A time for recipes…

Seriously, I can’t decide if this is nasty, or a good idea. Do you have a recipe that you felt that way about, you made it, and you were just so glad you did? Drop me a line, let me know! I think I need some encouragement(courage?) to make this!

Loop

This photo was taken almost 5 years ago. When I think back to that time, my mind immediately says, what are the good things you remember? Taking photos of the cows in the blistering cold, heavy snow, brings me such a sense of peace. I think the cows were much wiser than me in this moment, as they realized the importance of temporary conditions, the acceptance of their reality, and enduring life with a quiet grace. Cows are a most curious creature, people assume they are dumb…but that just sounds like those people don’t understand others, and the observation of such. This loops me back to the Darwin quote I posted, responsive change. Maybe we can learn a lot more from cows than we think. What do you think?

There is hope for all of us!

Growing up, we heard that only the strongest survive, and while that may have been applicable in some way, possibly still applies, it is not what keeps us alive. The most intelligent don’t always survive either. I am sure we all know a super smart, yet dumb person. I am not speaking of the educated, although that applies here too, no, some of the smartest people wouldn’t ensure survival either.

When we speak of the adaptable surviving, are those the same people as most responsive to change, or most open to change? I don’t think so. Adaptable people are not always open to change, but perhaps they fall under most easily coerced? That doesn’t sound like responsive to change, responsive indicating there is a thought to change, a conscious choosing of change.

What do you think? Would you like to discuss your thoughts on this Charles Darwin quote? Do you agree or disagree with my assessment of this quote? Do you have any thoughts to add, or expound on this? Drop me a line, I would love to know!

TotalComfort Portable Ultrasonic Humidifier – Homedics

The Homedics TotalComfort Portable Ultrasonic Humidifier is ideal for personal spaces. Featuring 2 outputs of visible cool mist and accent lighting.

I bought 3 of these, one for Brooke’s bedroom, one for Ave’s bedroom/dorm room, and one for Bill when he travels. We suffer so many negative effects on our health when we aren’t properly hydrated, and by not using a humidifier, the winter will do just that, dehydrate you with the heated air.

I also purchased a larger humidifier for my bedroom, and I have one in my living room and my sitting area/kitchen. I turned the big ones on today and can breathe so much better. I coughed a bit, so I will probably adjust how much humidity is coming in to the room, and add a bit more tomorrow.

I felt compelled to share this link with you because I trust and believe in HoMedics products, the quality, ease of use and ease of care. Get additional wicks or filters, clean your product regularly with a 50/50 water:vinegar solution, do a deep year end cleaning, and they will last a long time. I am on year 4 of the first, this allows me to add one each year, as needed.

This post is my opinion, I wish they compensated me!🤣

No post today, enjoy this photo of Sonny!

Photos to accompany…

Yesterday, I wrote a short post about my day, today, I will show you some snippets involved in the day, and in to today!

The lovely Miss Clara!

Below are images from Bill’s flights last night:

I will testify that the Embassy Suites at the airport, have the very best omelette, and it is where I learned to cook my own at home.

Ham, mushrooms, spinach and cheese…FRESH.

Today was a rest and recoup sort of day, a stay in and stay warm day too. Drop me a line, let me know what your day was like, did you rest, did you work? Did you stay warm, or were you a bit cold today? Also, do you have a humidifier going yet?? Drop me a line and let me know!

Almost missed it!

It’s still the 15th, but I am cutting it close today!

I have had a full day between visiting with a dear friend, traveling north, and delivering client products! It has been a very good day, even saw an old friend while hanging with my other friend and that was also a great thing. Sorry, I will be blowing sunshine and roses for a while probably, but hey, no need to apologize for being happy, right?

I am seeing a shift, and am hearing other people talk about shifts they are seeing in people too. It gives me a lot of hope, makes me happy, and it definitely feels a lot better for the world, and locally. Are you noticing a shift in others, maybe yourself too? It amazes me how many people are telling me they are growing beyond old places, and know many others that are as well. Like out of the blue telling me, I love it!

Drop me a line, let me know your thought, observations, and experience with a possible shift in people, I would love to know!

Speaking of…

Speaking of potpourri yesterday, in addition to smelling the enticing aromas today, has planted a seed in my brain. I am now feeling the need to make some breads with the things I, and others, mentioned in the comments. How about you, would you be interested in discussing some homemade breads, maybe get together and make some, or look to swap some recipes? Let’s talk about it!

Potpourri-The smell of fresh warmth

I often make my own potpourri through the year, last time was lime, rosemary and vanilla, this time it’s orange, mint, rosemary and cinnamon. I truly love how the scents develop over the course of the day, going from faint to full body by the end of the day. I will most likely simmer the same concoction a few days this week, as I think about the menu and preparations needed for next week, Thanksgiving.

Are you prepping for next week? Do you have traditional plans of family, food, and football? Or will you be doing something special and new for the holiday? Drop me a line, I would love to know!

Happiness Overwhelm

Are you ever so happy that it overwhelms you in a good way? That is where I am currently. This isn’t to say I have hit the lotto and bought a farm with 109 dogs and library(with a rolling ladder), no, this is to say that right now, this very existence in my life is such a happy time for me, perhaps the happiest ever. This feel momentous, overwhelming, awe inspiring and honestly amazing. I am soaking it up, reveling in it and find myself constantly singing, smiling or laughing. I am feeling so very blessed right at the moment.

On Friday, Brooke and I met Avery in Jeffersonville to drop some items to her for a big weekend for her business frat semi formal. We sat and chatted, had some coffee and teas, met a nice lady who chimed in on our conversation, and laughed about Brooke’s dialect, pertaining to certain words. She is my rural northwest Ross County accent child at times, and I love it!

We finally got to have a fire with our gas logs! We have not been able to use them for the first month as we have been having a warm fall, but yesterday was a go! Apparently Bill needed moral support, maybe it was supervision, I am not sure, either way we had a good laugh about the dogs and their concern!

Today we cleaned the house, did laundry, and have been counting down to watch Yellowstone. Who is with us?! Cannot wait!!

This week has travel for most of us in some capacity, Avery will be home for break, and I will be knocking some projects off my list before editing my next session. Lots of fun things to look forward to in the next couple of months, so I need to keep cracking! What’s in store for you this week, anything exciting or fun, maybe something you have been looking forward to? Drop me a line, let me know!
